A recent ad campaign by Always (I’m a sucker for these things) put some new perspective on the negativity surrounding the phrase “like a girl” and the impact that these stereotypes can have on female self-esteem. It was an eye opening reminder of just how important it is for us to be careful when choosing our words and to never, ever position being “like a girl” as anything that we should be ashamed of.
I loved this rally cry and jumped at the chance to feature a bracelet from Accessory Concierge in honor of breast cancer awareness month that is a reminder of what it means to be a woman. It’s about strength and determination. It’s about overcoming and defying the odds. I’m all about fighting like a girl and love the bracelet’s subtle reminder to stay strong – it’s a perfect everyday piece and a great way to honor my grandmother who beat breast cancer (and 20% of proceeds are donated to the Breast Cancer Fund!)
