Sorry I’m not sorry about that pun but guys… I AM SO EXCITED TO BE KICKING OFF THE HOLIDAY SEASON THIS WEEK. I’m actually sorry about all of those caps but I can’t help it, I’m just feeling pretty happy about the short work week, upcoming turkey feast and getting our Christmas tree on Saturday. Bring it on!

This outfit is a bit unrelated to all of that excitement but also a look that’s perfect for easing your way into full blown red, green and all of the sequins. Plaid is always a good idea and screams fall to me, especially when paired with suede boots, and this pair? They’re my favorite pair of shoes right now – SO comfortable! I was very pleasantly surprised by these TOMS booties when my latest Trunk Club trunk arrived, they’re the perfect heel height so you feel tall and awesome but can also walk around all day in ’em without any discomfort. I’ve been anxiously awaiting Trunk Club for women for the past few years (B worked there in Chicago!) and it’s been so fun to get picks delivered from my stylist Casey – if you’re curious I highly recommend checking it out, there’s always a wide range of price points and you simply return anything you don’t want to keep. Easiest way to shop ever!

Back to the plaid here: I was rather pleased with myself when I threw together this new outfit creation from a few beloved pieces in my closet (actually you’ve already seen this skirt and shirt before!). As much as I love shopping for new pieces, I actually think it’s always more thrilling to challenge yourself to come up with new outfit options based on what’s already in your wardrobe. Anyone else get a rush from “making” a new outfit?
